| Adam Showen was born in San José, California,and
grew up in Miami, Florida. He studied acting and directing at Indian
River Community College, where he graduated Cum Laude. He then wrote
and directed "überman", a short digital film which won
Best Art Direction at The Alberta Misfits Film Festival and got him
accepted into The University of Central Florida's Film Program. While
at UCF, Showen wrote and directed a 16mm short, "The Boy Who Lost
His Song", which received Honorable Mention at the Florida Film
Festival and has been nominated for a Student Academy Award. Based on
the success of that film, Showen won a $25,000 grant from sponsors, including
Panavision and Kodak to film his UCF senior Capstone film, "When
the Perfect Comes" shot on super 35mm. He now works as a camera operator and co-director of Dr.G: Medical Examiner, a TV show on Discovery Health. |
